One Good Man
Oluwaremilekun Durojaiye Otuneye was born in the second half of the 1980s. He lived his childhood years in Surulere, Lagos. He had his elementary education at Obele Primary School before proceeding to Akintan Grammar School, Surulere for higher studies. Young Remi will later proceed to Nigeria’s Premier University (the University of Ibadan) where he bagged a degree in Political Science. His choice of this course of study is rather deliberate reflecting his unique personality. Unlike many of his contemporaries, he is a free political thinker, and a monotheist – a true believer in the creation and existence of one universal God.
He is the best friend to have and a greatest lover with unquestionable loyalty; one who is ready to take responsibility for whatever is in his care. While in the University of Ibadan, his ‘ownership attitude’ to work, appointment or assignment earned him the nickname: Prime Minister De facto. Sometimes, he may be diplomatic about an issue by not taking a side but, he is not the one that would keep quiet and fold his hands together in the face of injustice. His innate ability to abhor evil and filthy things has accorded him respect amongst friends, colleagues and relatives. He is a puller of the crowd, a genial by nature, and cheerful to be with.
Remi is a talented and can be opinionated. He is never shy or intimidated to take a stand in a discussion. A man that is open to every form of knowledge and also very hard working. He is a good and valuable team player, and unassuming when working with others. He is distinctly organized and leadership personified. A being like others with challenges: he is always willing to help (within his reach). He is also not complacent as he goes for what he believes in. As a way of contributing back to the society, he has taken upon himself to be a social crusader and a constructive critic. His faith, resilience and determination to surmount mountains of life are unshaken like the mountain itself!
Otunba, as fondly called by colleagues is humble, homey and humorous. According to him, he is a realist and a rightist. Among other maxims, honesty is his watchword. He is very tolerant and accommodative except for liars. And when he loves, he loves for real. Hate him or like him, he is a man of the people; a force to reckon with – not yesterday’s man. Above all, HE IS SINGLE…and he is not too young to run.
Today is another milestone, for this cause, people of God, join us as we say: [singing] He’s a jolly good fellow…and so say all of us!
Happy Birthday to you and continue to rule your destiny!
