Secrets to a Healthy Life

I have seen people bother if they can actually stay off falling sick. Well, the good news is; you can dodge colds, flu and other common ailments. All you need is to be attentive to details and make use of the secrets I’m about to share with you. Guess what! You are about to stop falling sick.

Exercise
Regular exercise helps reduce stress, lower blood pressure and prevent obesity and diabetes- when you exercise, you increase your circulation and blood flow throughout your body, the components of your immune system are also well circulated meaning your immune system has a better chance of fighting against any illness before it spreads especially upper respiratory infections

A Low-Calorie Diet
Recent studies have shown that lowering you average daily caloric intake by 20-30% could lower your risk of age-related diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and even Alzheimer’s disease

Get a Massage
Getting a massage once (or more) a month can reduce anxiety, can minimize headaches, heal sport injuries, lower your blood pressure and heart rate – lowering all of these causes a reduction in your stress level, one key to building your immunity.

Eat More Garlic
Garlic is a powerful antioxidant with antimicrobial, antiviral and antibiotic properties that can help stave off cancer, boost your heart health and also help with a wide range of gastrointestinal distresses including constipation; its compounds can stimulate digestive secretions, improve intestinal muscle tone and help move food through your gastrointestinal tract. Fresh garlic- sipped in tea or eaten straight up is the best, other forms (dried, powdered, cooked) can be effective too.

Always Wash your Hands
Regular hand-washing is the first action you can take to dodge common ailments many people come down with annually (including the bacteria such as E. coli and salmonella that cause food-borne illnesses). Make regular washing of your hands a daily habit- wash with regular soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds, vigorously scrubs all parts of your hands not just palms –don’t forget your forearms and fingernails, dry with paper towels or your designated hand towel.

Get Enough Sleep
Your immune system needs sleep to keep you healthy; studies have shown that people who sleep less than 6 hours a night are about 4 times more likely to catch a cold when they get the virus compared to those who get about 7 hours of sleep a night.

Friends
Studies have shown that people who never get sick usually have a positive social network around them- having good friends is very good for your health; friends increase your sense of belonging and purpose, boost your happiness, reduce your stress, improve your self-confidence, help you cope with traumas and encourage you to change or avoid unhealthy lifestyle habits. Therefore, make your friends a priority and make sure you are a good friend to them as well.
In all, the secret to a healthy living, lies in your ability to consciously stay healthy. You have the power to your health
